Founded in 1996 by Dubby and Cindy Carr, River of Life Ministries began with a simple conviction — that faith should be accessible, authentic, and free from pressure. For more than two decades, we have served as bi-vocational ministers, balancing ministry and marketplace work while helping others do the same.
From the beginning, Isaiah 55 has been at the heart of our vision: “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat!” This scripture shaped our foundation — a ministry where anyone could come, receive, and belong without financial barriers or the weight of religious obligation.
We’ve never taken offerings through manipulation or pressure. Instead, we encourage people to use God’s resources to support the work of River of Life, to bless others, and to meet the needs they see around them. We believe generosity begins at home — if someone is choosing between giving to the church or buying groceries for a neighbor in need, we choose compassion every time.
Our ministry focus extends beyond weekly gatherings to the places where real life happens — in our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities — and we strive never to overwhelm anyone with extra programs or events that distract from that mission.
River of Life was built for people who serve God while also serving in the world —everyday believers who carry their faith into their life and work. We have created a place where people grow spiritually without being overwhelmed by endless programs or expectations, but instead focus on authentic relationships, prayer, and service. Each member is an ambassador for Christ, responsible for the message of reconciliation as found in 2 Corinthians 5:17-20.
After 26 years of gathering in a physical church building, River of Life transitioned in 2022 to a virtual and community-based model. Today, we meet online once a week for worship and teaching, and connect in smaller gatherings — in homes, at community spaces, and through service projects — across our region.
This model reflects the same heart we’ve always had: a living, flexible ministry that meets people where they are and encourages each believer to carry the river of God’s love into their everyday life.
