Love in Action

Love In Action

You are the ministry.

Here is something we truly believe: ministry was never meant to belong to a few professionals. It belongs to all of God's people — including you.

At River of Life, we're a church without walls. That means the most important ministry doesn't happen on a stage or behind a pulpit. It happens in the everyday places where you already live, work, and love: your kitchen table, your workplace, your neighborhood, your group chat, the checkout line, the hospital waiting room.

You don't need a title. You don't need permission. If you follow Jesus, you are already sent.

Ministry Usually Looks Smaller — and More Powerful — Than We Expect

  • It's noticing the person everyone else overlooks.
  • It's showing up when someone is grieving, and simply staying.
  • It's paying for a stranger's groceries, or a neighbor's tank of gas.
  • It's a hard, honest, grace-filled conversation over coffee.
  • It's forgiveness offered where resentment would be easier.
  • It's praying with someone right where they are, right when they need it.

A Simple Way to Start: See. Show Up. Serve. Share.

  • See — ask God, "Help me see the people around me the way You see them."
  • Show up — presence is powerful. Often, love means being there.
  • Serve — meet the need in front of you, however small it seems.
  • Share — when the door opens, share the hope you've found in Christ.

Keep Growing — Then Pass It On

Growing in faith was never meant to end with us. As you learn and grow, keep one simple question in your heart: "Who can I pass this on to?" That's how a river works — it doesn't collect in one place; it keeps moving, carrying life everywhere it goes.

The simplest place to start is Takeaway Tuesday. Each week's Scripture, insight, and step is something you can carry into your own life and hand to a friend who is searching.

How We Help

Our role isn't to run every ministry for you — it's to equip and encourage you to live yours. Through teaching, coaching, prayer, and community, we want to help you grow confident in loving the people God has placed in your life. If you're carrying a burden for someone or sensing God nudge you toward something, we would love to come alongside you, pray with you, and help you take the next step.

You are the church. Right where you are, God is ready to work through you.

Our Guiding Scripture

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer… Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles.” — Acts 2:42–43
